Abel "Indio" Garcia, age 76 of Seguin, passed away on March 3, 2016. A memorial service celebrating "Indio's" life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at The Country Church in Marion Arena with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. A reception will follow at Los Indios Stables. Private interment will take place at a later date. Abel was born in Roma Texas on August 18, 1939 to Wenseslado and Jovita (Guerra) Garcia. Abel will be remembered as a Great Horseman who gave all glory to God. He was a hardworking man who was blessed with the gift of training horses. He is preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Roberta "Berta" Garcia; son, A.J. "Porky" Garcia and Jen Tyson; daughters, Terri Carithers, Sylvia Arizola and husband Greg, and Anna Garcia; grandchildren, Ashton Lyn Bednorz and husband Craig, Justin Villarreal, Kelsey Bernhard and Meagan, Maegan Carithers and Tanya Carithers; great-grandson, Kyler Michael Bednorz; sisters, Angelina Guerra and Socorro Franz and husband Frank; brothers, Monico Garcia and Tommy Garcia and wife Elisa; sister-in-law, Opal Funke and husband Fred; brother-in-law, Charlie Wessling; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Abel, also known to many as "Grandpa" will be missed and his legacy will live on through his family and friends as we remember his famous last word "Adios"!
