Abelardo C. Salazar Sr.

Abelardo C. “Lalo” Salazar, Sr., age 87 of Seguin, passed away on June 9, 2026. Abel was born on December 10, 1938, in Geronimo, Texas to Cruz (Cardenas) and Alvino Salazar, Sr.

Lalo is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Toribio Salazar and his sister, Nay Villareal.

Survivors include his loving wife, Angela Amador Salazar; children, Abelardo “Abel” Salazar, Jr., Lupie Rios, Frances Castanon, Frank Rios, Janie Gonzales, Josephine Charles, Raymond Amador, Margaret Lockamy, Johnny Rodriquez, and Mary Ann McGlade; siblings, Dora Aleman, Frances Tristan and Alvino Salazar, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other loving family members and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m.
