Ace Mateo Gardose Matthews joined our Lord and Savior sadly too soon after the brief but shining moments he was on this earth on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his uncle, Keagen Lee Matthews. Survivors include his mother Joey May Gardose and his father Devonte Matthews; grandparents Crystal Matthews, David Schelnick and Clara Jefferson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family friends and loved ones.

Although Ace's life was cut short, the love and devotion his parents have for him will live on forever.

"Little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side, our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
