Obituary

Adam Zelinski, age 82 of Seguin, formerly of Austin, passed away on January 1, 2010. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Seguin Church of Christ with Mr. Alan Tullis officiating. Interment will be private. Mr. Zelinski was born September 23, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey to John and Bessie Zelinski. Adam spent his early years serving our country in the Merchant Marines and then a tour with the U.S. Army. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He retired from IBM in 1990 and spent his final years traveling and spending time with his Wife Opal. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers John Zielienski and Steve Zielinski. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Opaldean Zelinski; sons, William "Bill" Zelinski and A.J. Zelinski and wife Allison; daughter, Sharon Zelinski McCully; step-children, Jim Freeman and wife Christi, Patsy Nolte and husband Ken, Sandy Rice and husband Paul (Tex) and Debbie Brown and husband Steve; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Adam loved the outdoors and was a lifetime member of the Gold Prospectors Assn. of America and the Lost Dutchman Mining Assn. He loved panning for gold and metal detecting all over the U.S., Alaska and Australia. Adam was an avid traveler and loved to try new things and new foods from around the world. Always smiling, he never lost his sense of humor. Never complaining, always interesting, loved by family and friends. He will be missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seguin Church of Christ, 1351 E. Walnut St., Seguin, TX 78155.
