ADELA PORTER (De La Cruz) 48, of Wellesley, MA passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2013. Born August 18, 1964 in Sweetwater, Texas, she was daughter of Julian and Anselma De La Cruz. Beloved mother of Robert Porter and Alex Porter, of Wellesley, MA. Dear sister to her siblings in Texas: Helen (Steve) Carrillo, Connie Rangel, Carlos (Roxanne) De La Cruz, Ramon (Chris) De La Cruz, Eva De La Cruz, Oscar De La Cruz. Also survived by her former husband Ronald Porter of New York, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Adela's sons were central to her life; cherishing her role as a stay-at-home mom. She was known to all for her compassion and generous spirit. She is loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Adela graduated from Seguin High School in 1982. A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, May 28 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills, MA. A visitation will begin in Seguin on Saturday, June 29, at 9:00 AM at Tres Hewell Mortuary, 165 Tor Drive, followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Seguin. "Through Adela's giving spirit, her designation as an organ donor has benefited other lives."
