Adolph P. Sczech, age 86 of Floresville formerly of Knippa passed away on November 6, 2012. Funeral services including the recitation of the rosary will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Adolph was born on October 16, 1926 in Guadalupe County to Harry and Martha Haug Sczech. Adolph lived in Knippa for 48 years recently moving to Floresville to be near family. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 42 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, wood-working and watering the gardens. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Alex Sczech, Bill and wife Lola Sczech, Albert and wife Dorothy Sczech, Robert Sczech,Sr., Harry and wife Thelma Sczech, Julia and Arthur Erler, Helen and Rudy Boeck, son-in-law, Ralph Casey and brother-in-law, Max Schuchardt. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Annie Mae Rennspies Sczech; daughter, Carol Kretzschmar and husband Melvin; son, Kenneth Sczech and wife Nadine; daughter, Margie Casey; sister, Rosie Schuchardt; sister-in-law, Irene Sczech; grandchildren, Kathy and Kevin Janek, Gary Kretzschmar, Kevin Sczech, Sara Sczech, Heather Sczech, Lindsay and Bart Macmanus; great-grandchildren, Kolby and Kacee Janek and McKenna, Kambry, Aislynn and Branson Macmanus; numerous nieces and nephews. Adolph will be remembered as a loving Christian man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neighbors and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to any alzheimer's or cancer association of choice.
