Obituary

Agnes Baenziger Herbold, age 95 of Seguin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2010. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Assembly of God with Rev. Don Wiehe officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Agnes was the daughter of Albin and Mary (Lange) Baenziger, she was born in Guadalupe County October 31, 1914. She married Hilmar Herbold, December 10, 1932, they had two children. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted homemaker, wonderful cook and took great pride in her home. She and Hilmar loved to play dominoes and played regularly with friends and family. She loved her church, Hillcrest Assembly, and was very active in it until she moved to the nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her parents, and her sisters, Malinda Stollewerk, Hattie Volkman, Hilda Nichols, Edna Herbold, Thekla Simpson and Lucille Baenziger. Survivors include her son, H. C. (Sonny) Herbold and wife Glynna of Rowlett, Texas, daughter, Ruth Smith and husband Marvin of Seguin, Texas.; 6 grandchildren, Pam Lee of Seguin, Chris Herbold of Blythville, Arkansas, Robin Blackburn, and husband Freddy of Huntsville, Texas, Dr. Kyle Herbold of Stockton, California, Shauna Baker and husband Colin of Seguin, Texas and Kirby Smith; 6 great-grandchildren, Trey Lee, Amy Baccus and husband Bryan, Tyson Blackburn, Jackie Williams and husband Donald, Kaitlyn Baker and Lauren Baker; 6 great-great grandchildren, Caleb and Deanna Baccus, Corey, Colby and Jadon Williams and Oakley Blackburn; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Assembly of God Church, P. O. Box 267, Seguin, Texas, 78156 or to the charity of one's choice.
