Albert Roland Cowey, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on February 5, 2025.  Albert was born on June 1, 1941 at his home in Guadalupe County, Texas to Alma (Herbold) and Robert Max Cowey.

Albert attended Seguin schools, but pulled out of Seguin High School early to work and help save the family farm.  He learned most things from the School of Hard Knocks! He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.  He will be remembered as a long-time employee of the Hexcel Corporation retiring after 38 years of dedicated service.  Prior to his time at Hexcel, he worked at the Seguin Auction Barn and also worked in pool maintenance at the apartment complex owned by Dr. Jesse Williams.

Albert was a charter member of Central Assembly of God Church in Seguin, and most recently attended Good News Fellowship Church.  Albert's life goals were serving God, raising his family and working the family farm.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alvin Cowey and wife Mary Jane and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Joiner Cowey; children, Clifton Cowey and wife Sheryl, Darrell Cowey and wife Susan, Eric Cowey and wife Andrea, and Fairah Solomon and husband Heath; grandchildren, Jolissa Rodriguez, Elizabeth Garner and husband Dennis "DJ", Douglas Cowey and wife Tiffany, Leslie Key-Cowey, Kyrrence Young, D'Marion Gentry, and Alesha Cowey, Kiersten Solomon, Braden Solomon, and Cade Solomon; great-grandson, Jackson Roland Garner; brother-in-law, Jay Joiner and wife Laura; sister-in-law, Diana Blackburn and husband James; several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other loving family members and a host of friends.

The family truly appreciates the love, support and caring attendance given by Andrew Smith as he assisted with all Albert's needs for over a year.  Andrew will forever be considered a part of the Cowey Family.

Visitation will begin on Monday, February, 10, 2025 at 12 noon at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Bill Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Tabor Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the Good News Fellowship Church Fellowship Hall.

Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Cowey, Kyrrence Young, D'Marion Gentry, Braden Solomon, Cade Solomon, Max Blackburn, Joshua Joiner, and Larry Cowey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jolissa Rodriguez, Elizabeth Garner, Leslie Key-Cowey, Alesha Cowey, and Kiersten Solomon.

Albert's family truly appreciates the compassionate medical care and support provided by Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services.  Special thanks to Nurse Cat and all the other attending nurses, Carmen Anderson, and Chaplain Emanuel Carpenter.
