Alex "Elias" Reyes Urdialez, age 79 of Seguin, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on October 7, 2025.  Alex was born on March 12, 1946 in Kingsbury, Texas, to Sofia (Reyes) and Manuel Urdialez.

Alex loved life and everyone that was in his life.  His friendly smile and warm handshake never met a stranger.  By the time he was in 6th grade he quit school to work in the fields with his family.  He worked hard to support his family and retired from Acme Brick after 36 years of dedicated service.

Many good times were spent with family and friends outdoors.  He enjoyed trips to Mexico.  Other favorite times with family and friends were spent at Luling City Market Barbecue.  He enjoyed watching western movies or the Dallas Cowboys on the television, and always beside him, his favorite beverage, Dr. Pepper!

A man of strong faith, he was an active member of Bethel Church-C.L.A.D.I.C.  Although a man of few words, he will be remembered for his kindness, patience and gentle spirit.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elena and Abel Medrano, his brother, Samuel Urdialez, Sr., and sisters, Lorraine Delgado and Maria Rivera.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Rachel Medrano Urdialez; children, Alex Urdialez, Jr., Joseph Medrano and wife Shelli, Angelica Medrano, Andreana Ramos and husband Jonathon, Alexandria Calderon and husband Benny, and Guy Sheppard; grandchildren, Gabriella Rocha, Bryan Urdialez, Gianna Sheppard, Jaynaleigh Ramos, Jahannarie Ramos, Joneyleigh Ramos, Jonathon C. Ramos, Jayloveigh Ramos, Jayleynarie Ramos, Jadelexleigh Ramos, Jayluvalyn Ramos, Joncaine J. Ramos, Benzino Calderon, Benson Calderon, Bianey Calderon; great-grandchildren, Riley Rocha, and Stetson Rocha;  brother, David Urdialez and wife Frances; sister-in-law, Elvira Urdialez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins friends and other loving family members.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel.  Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Medrano, Joe Medrano, Jimmy Herrera Jr, Samuel Urdialez Jr, Robert Rivera Jr, Dan Delagdo III, & Jonathon Ramos.
