Alger Lee (Al) Hyatt, Sr., age 74 of Seguin, Texas passed away on January 22, 2014. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary, Friday January 24, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Gary Rodgers officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas. Al was born on August 8, 1939 in Wharton Texas to Thomas Washington and Pauline Johnson Hyatt. He was a graduate of Edcouch-Elsa High School Class of 1958. Upon moving to San Antonio he worked for City Public Service, then National Linen and later retired as Regional Manager from Cain's Coffee (now part of Sarah Lee, Inc.) in 2003. In retirement he and Betty enjoyed nine pin bowling and taking country drives. Al enjoyed working cattle and going on Trail Rides. He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Thomas Cecil Hyatt. Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years, Betty Hobizal Hyatt; son, Alger (Al) Hyatt, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Jane Hyatt and boyfriend, Jay Wolfenbarger; granddaughter, Reagan Carly Hyatt; many loving cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
