Allen Gates Compton was born May 26, 1926 in Nolan County, Texas and passed away on July 17, 2011 in Seguin, Texas after a lengthy illness. He married Betty Jo Porter on October 4, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, grandson Cooper Ryan Compton, sister-in-law Jean Perkins and brother M. L. Compton. Survivors include his daughter Connie and husband Rodger Hill of San Angelo, Texas; sons, Gates and wife Teresa of Seguin, Texas, Cody and wife LaDale of Talihina, Oklahoma, Lee and wife Dawn of Bellville, Texas and Kyle and wife Amy of Cleveland, Oklahoma; survivors also include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. The family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Hacienda Oaks. Per Mr. Compton's wishes there will be no formal service.
