The greatest generation has lost another of its beloved members as Allen Hall, Jr. was called home on January 21, 2017 at the age of 91.

Allen was born in Saratoga, Texas on March 24, 1925 and lived an extraordinary life. He married his sweetheart Lola Mae in 1949 and settled in Seguin, Texas where they raised two daughters and inspired their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be humble, benevolent, charitable and God-loving.

Professionally, Allen was a Senior Production Supervisor for Gulf Oil (and, later, Chevron) for 37 years. His grandchildren all cherish the memories of going to work with him at Darst Creek and stopping to pick and eat wild berries until our stomachs hurt.

After his retirement, Allen's need to remain active, continue to serve the community and his family's desire for him to quit amateur construction on to the house, drove him to become a school bus driver for those with special needs.

Spiritually, Allen served as a deacon in the Southern Baptist church until the effects of aging kept him from regular services. His faith never faltered and he continued to follow the Lord and teach His word to the three generations that routinely spent time at "Ma'amaw and Papaw's."

Allen was preceded in death by his dearest Lola and his brothers Doyle and Earl.

He is survived by his younger brother Dearl, his daughters Janice and Nancy, his grandchildren Lance, Jeri, Michelle, Brandi and James, his great-grandchildren Jacob, Alexis, Cody, Grace, Luke, Matthew, Katey, Seth, Hally, Abigail, Jazzlynn, Shelby, Skylar, Chloe and Allen's playmate Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Hall requested a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) the disease which took his darling Lola much too soon.
