Obituary

Alton R. Klein, resident of Seguin since 1945, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 18, 2009 at the age of 85. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 12:00 p.m.– 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastoral Assistant Willie Spreen officiating and military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 followed by a reception at the American Legion H.U. Wood Post #245. Private graveside services and interment will be held at a later date. Alton was born on March 3, 1924 in Cost, Texas to Anton and Mary Erck Klein. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a lifetime member of American Legion H.U. Wood Post #245. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Kent Klein and brothers, Willie, Oscar, and Tony Klein. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Billie G. Klein; children, Doris Marilyn Robbins, Patricia Sizemore and husband, Carl and Connie Marie West and husband, Ray; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Engelke and Evelyn Engelke, daughter-in-law, Malinda Klein and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245. Special thanks to Guadalupe Regional Hospice and the staff at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245, P. O.
