Amalia R. Sanchez, loving wife, and mother, age 78 of Seguin, passed away on August 3, 2023, after a courageous and valiant four-year fight with cancer.  Amalia was born on July 11, 1945, in Coahuila, Mexico to Juana (Carrasco) and Hipolito Rodriquez.

Amalia is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rosa Martha, Ramon, Pedro, and Cruz Rodriguez.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Bernaldo P. Sanchez, Sr.; daughters, Olga Elizabeth Sanchez and husband Rick Martinez, Laura Patricia Sanchez, and Gloria Imelda Flores and husband Victor Anthony; sons, Gerardo Javier Sanchez, Bernaldo Sanchez, Jr., and Rodolfo Sanchez and wife, Victoria; grandchildren who knew and loved her as "Welita", Valeria, Ricardo, Jr., Devina, Jaime, James, Gabriela, Daniel, Heather, Gerardo, Jr., Aracely, Julio, Lorenzo, Nathaniel, Rodolfo, Jr., Nayeli, Abraham, Tristan, Joaquin, and Syann; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Adrian, Emma, Aaliyah, Isaiah, and Alayna; brother, Abraham Rodriguez, and wife Hilda; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will begin on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 5 p.m. followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m.  A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Interment will follow in the Victor Garza Memorial Cemetery near Zuehl.  Serving as pallbearers will be Gerardo Sanchez, Bernaldo Sanchez, Jr., Rodolfo Sanchez, Ricardo Villalpando, Jr., Jaime Gonzalez, and James Gonzalez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Anthony Flores and Ricardo Martinez.
