Andrew Aguirre, Sr. of Seguin, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the age of 52. Andrew was born to Agapito and Simona Aguirre on August 2, 1963. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Luisa "Lulu" Aguirre and grandparents Aurelio and Petra Gallegos Aguirre and Nazario and Petra Vasquez Delgado. Andrew was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son and brother. Andrew is remembered for his gentle soul, caring heart and his willingness to always lend a hand to help others. Andrew was a good man who always put the needs of his family and friends first. Much of his energy and effort went into spending time with his 12 grandchildren, all of which could be seen with him in public. Andrew earned his mechanics certification at St. Phillip's College in San Antonio. He spent years at West Point-Pepperell and Owens Corning in New Braunfels and most recently Matrix in Seguin.
He is survived by his parents, Agapito and Simona Aguirre; five children Andrew Aguirre, Jr.; Andriana "Annie" Aguirre (Daniel Gomez); Analisa "Lisa" Aguirre Gutierrez (Jonathan Gutierrez); Angelica Aguirre (Korey Ramon) and Arthur James Aguirre; sisters, Irene Nieto (Steve); Gracie Jimenez (Cruz III); Vicki Aguilar (Hector) and Cindy Aguirre-Herrera (Jesse Jr.); and grandchildren, Adalynn, Anjolie "Jojo" and Andrew III "Papa" Aguirre; Matthew, Jeremiah "Bubba" and Nathaniel "Nate" Herrera; Jayden and Alana Acuna and Aubrey Gutierrez; and Korey "Joseph", Kaleb and Kristian Ramon. He is also survived by the mother of his children Kathy Young and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A funeral procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary at 8:30 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Interment will follow in the San Geronimo Cemetery.
