Anita Luera Medina, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on July 4, 2013. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral services in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo and Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Anita was born in Guadalupe County on July 26, 1929 to Edwardo and Angelita Luera Medina. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Lou and Margie Medina and Dominga Gonzales, brothers, Frank, Raymundo and Vicente Medina Sr., nephews, Albert, Jr., Tony, Augustine and Felix Gonzales, sister-in-law, Josie Medina, and brother-in-law, Albert Gonzales, Sr. Survivors include her loving son, Emilio Sutherland and wife Jo Ann Sassenhagen Sutherland; sisters, Patsy and Julia Medina, Caterina Garza; brother, Jesse Medina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Albert Gonzales III, Andrew Luna, Justin Ontiveros, Andrew Ontiveros, Daniel Keyes, David Keyes, Jr., Michael Gonzales, Rene Gonzales, Adrian Medina, Vicente Medina Jr., Richard Casanova, David Rodriguez, Jon Tague, Mark Bencomo, Matthew Bencomo, Joseph Bencomo, Dr. Joey Gutierrez.
