On May 18, 2012, the celestial constellations became a little brighter as Annie Patterson, age 80 of Seguin, joined our Lord. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Rhonda Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Annie was born on April 6, 1932 in Hobart, OK, to the late Lemey Bee and Emma Pearl (Rummage) Scarberry. Raised in rural western Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle with her seven brothers and sisters, she developed a deep sense of family that she shared throughout her life. On April 2, 1952, she married her soul mate, Irvin Patterson. They shared the next 60 years together raising five children, enjoying 16 grandkids, cherishing 20 great-grandkids, and keeping each other happy. Her husband could only describe his time with her as "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"! She went back to school in 1968 and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at Seguin Convalescent Home for 27 years. She was loved and respected by her patients, peers, and co-workers. Family was the most important priority to Annie. Her loving nature was infectious and grew into a large extended family. She was affectionately called Mom, Grandma, Momma Patterson, Momma P, Mrs P by friends of her children and grandchildren, co-workers, and anyone else who stepped into her circle of caring. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Condra Gale Patterson, her parents and brothers, Winfred "Bud", Dale, Clifford, Elmer, Charlie, and Johnnie Scarberry. She is survived by her husband, Irvin Gaynel "Pat" Patterson, Associate Professor of Biology, Emeritus, Texas Lutheran University, her children and their spouses, Nina and Huey Watson, Danny and Sandra Patterson, Allen and Ida Patterson, Terry and Lydia Patterson, Adam and Linda Patterson, sisters, Florence "Sis" Wood and Bertie Neeley and husband Don, sisters-in-law, Kay Scarberry and Maria Scarberry, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless "adopted" family members. She will be missed by all. Serving as pallbearers will be TSgt Joshua Watson, Jose Briceno, Luke Patterson, Daniel Patterson, Austin Patterson, Nick Patterson, Neil Patterson, Lemey Patterson, Rod Patterson and CW2 John Watson (in absentia).
