Antonio "Tony" Galvan, age 57 of Seguin passed away on February 28, 2010. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Frank Willoughby officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Tony was born on December 26, 1952 in Seguin, Texas to Cruz and Crispina Maldanado Galvan. He worked for CMC Steel in both Seguin and Birmingham and later worked for Knytex. "Wetback" as he was affectionately known among family and friends, loved horses, fishing and spending special time with his grandson, Dalton. For 14 years he fought against heart disease and diabetes and his faith never wavered. He showed amazing strength and courage and taught his family how to be better people. He is preceded in death by his parents and best friend, Matt Gastring. Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Shari Allman Galvan; son, Brandon J. Galvan; daughter, Crystal Galvan; grandson, Dalton Beeman; siblings, Cruz Galvan and wife Carolyn, Susano Galvan and wife Becky, David Galvan and wife Marie, Margaret Ryals and husband Steve, Robert Galvan, Sr., Susi Santos and husband David and Paul Ramirez; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Williams, Mike Schultze, Mike Cochran, David Galvan, Jr., Glen Cowey, Robert Galvan, Jr. and Bobby Davies. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandpa, brother and to many a great friend.
