Arlan C. Engelke, age 75 of Seguin, passed away on May 21, 2015. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ with Pastors Dave and Sonja Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Lone Oak Cemetery. Arlan was born on August 11, 1939 in Guadalupe County to Henry and Elenora (Petrosky) Engelke. He was a 1957 graduate of Navarro High School. He owned and operated Engelke Auto and Tire on Austin Street for many years. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Deanne Alice Dolle. He loved to travel and camp and hunt deer. As a member of Friedens United Church of Christ he served on the Church Counsel, as a Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Fellowship Sponsor. He also served on the Navarro Independent School Board for 15 years. Arlan is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lee, Norris, Rolan and Nolan Engelke; and sister, Lillian Krause. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Deanne Engelke; daughter Audrey Stroo and husband Denny; son, Lt. Col. Darryl Engelke USAF and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Caleb and Josh Stroo, and Jake, Brian, Beth and Mark Engelke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve LaFerrara, Walter Krause, Jr., Brett Krause, Kenneth Combs, Billy Dawson, Virgil Vogel, Randy Herzog and Marvin Kraft. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Dreibrodt, Stanley Heinemeyer, Lloyd Engelke, his grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
