Armida Irma Garcia, age 82, walked through Heaven's gates on May 31, 2022 in Seguin, Texas.  She was born on March 26, 1940 in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico to Maria Elena Martinez-Navarro and immigrated to the United States in the 1950s.

She met and married her husband of 58 years, Jose F. Garcia, Sr., in San Antonio, Texas before settling in Seguin.  She took great pride in being a stay-at-home mother while her children were growing up and was an active volunteer in their respective elementary schools.  As her grandchildren began to arrive, Armida went to great lengths to ensure each knew the extent of her love for them.  She often showed her adoration for them through a home cooked meal and delighted in the opportunity to crochet or sew a handmade blanket for them.

Armida is preceded in death by her Mother, Maria Elena Martinez-Navarro.  She is survived by her husband, Jose F. Garcia, Sr.; four children, Armida I. Garcia, Leticia E. Garcia, Jose F. Garcia, Jr., and Ricardo J. Garcia; nine grandchildren, David Lopez, Jr., Sammantha R. Garcia, Abigail L. Garcia, Adelina T. Garcia, Anahi H.  Garcia and wife Kaylan Turnmire, Martin I. Rojas, Jr., Jose F. Garcia, III, Reynaldo R. Rojas and Vanessa M. Garcia; and two great-grandchildren, Damian O. Garcia and Milo J. Blair.

Visitation will begin on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating.  A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Martin I. Rojas, Jr., Reynaldo R. Rojas, David Lopez, Jr., Sammantha R. Garcia, Vanessa M. Garcia, Jose F. Garcia, III, Adelina T. Garcia and Anahi H. Garcia.  Honorary pallbearer will be Abigail L. Garcia.
