Arthur "Sonny" C. Hurt, Jr., age 88 of Seguin, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2011. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 2 to 7 p. m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Brother Herman Cramer and Brother Lance Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewville Cemetery. Sonny was born on July 31, 1923 in Dewville, Texas to Arthur and Grace Batey Hurt. He graduated from Seguin High School in 1941. He married the love of his life, Winnie on March 31, 1948. They moved to Dilley and started ranching for the next 46 years. Arthur made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ on December 4, 1960. He was a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was also a member of the NRA and a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. They then moved back to Seguin. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Bonnie Halm and Goldye Mace both of Seguin and a baby brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Winifred (Winnie) White Hurt; sons, Richard Lee Hurt and wife Mindy, and Robert Frank Hurt and wife Cynthia all of Dilley; daughter, Pam Hurt Hindes and husband Roy of Charlotte; grandchildren, Travis Hurt and wife Jamie, Morriss Hurt and wife Erin, Kristi Schulte and husband John, Cuatro Hindes and wife Kelli, Rebecca Hurt and Jacob Hurt; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Clay Tom , Hudson, Dillon, Caden, Riley, and Preston, all who want to be a big hunter like their Papaw; Richard Mergele and wife Carla; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family would like to thank Sandy Redden for her loving care. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Hurt, Morriss Hurt, Jacob Hurt, Cuatro Hindes, John Schulte and Richard Mergele. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Heaton, Mike Halm, Dennis Huber, Jack Smith, Wallace Schuehle, Allen McKee, Marvin Mace and Ronnie Kay. Memorial contributions may be made to Boysville,
