Arthur Lee "Art" Woodall, age 82, passed away on July 7, 2015. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel in Seguin. Art was born in Mission Texas on July 19, 1932 to Arthur William and Betty (Newkirk) Woodall. Art went to work at the age of 14 when he would walk 8 miles to the pool where he lifeguarded. As an adult, Art worked in the oilfield, later becoming a peace officer in Mission, Texas, and then as a Texas Game Warden until coming back into the oilfield to start his own company with his uncle and brother, called Service and Maintenance, Inc.. Art was also active in the Rio Grande Speedway, sponsoring several dirt-track racing teams; his favorite being his son's #24 car, "Bronco Billy". He was also a founding member of the Mission-McAllen Beef Syndicate. When Art wasn't busy with his companies, he could usually be found hunting deer or saltwater fishing. Art is preceded in death by his parents and brothers James Woodall and Eugene Woodall, and beloved dogs, Skeeter, Peanut butter, and Jill. Survivors include his wife Peggy Andis; children, Bill Woodall (Susan), Beth Brotherton(Bert), and Douglas Woodall; step-daughter, Denice Kardosz (Tim); siblings, Betty Mae Bray, Sarah Cravens (Arthur), and Billy Ray Woodall (Linda); former wife, Barbara Govert Woodall; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and loyal dog, Dixie.
