Arthur "Atz" Trost, age 92 of Seguin, passed away on February 23, 2015. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Seguin with Rev. Barbara Dyke and Rev. Andy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. "Atz" was born on August 13, 1922 in Guadalupe County Texas to Rudolph Gustav and Margueritte (Ullrich) Trost. "Atz" and Maxine are members of the Kingsbury United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a banker at First National Bank and later at Seguin State Bank and Trust. "Atz" was a prolific storyteller who loved life. Many treasured times were spent outdoors among family and friends, including fishing on the Guadalupe River and deer hunting at the ranch. He also enjoyed tending to his cattle. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ethel Baenziger, his brothers, Raymond Trost, Rudy Trost, Gene Trost, and Gilbert Trost, his nephews, Marlin "Butch" Trost and Pat Trost, his niece, Brenda Gescheidle and infant granddaughter Amber Trost. Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Maxine Trost; son, James Trost and wife Betty; daughters, Lynn Hoermann, Ginger Effenberger and husband Wayne, and Kathy Norris and husband Bill; sisters-in-law, Margo Trost and Viola Trost; grandchildren, M'Lissa Kiel and husband David, Brady Hoermann, Wes Hoermann and wife Jo Beth, Chris Trost, Monty Trost and wife Amy, Everett Trost, Shannon Myers and husband Jack, Vernon Effenberger and wife Angela, Will Norris and wife Cassie, and Paul Norris and wife Laci; step-grandchildren, Casi Wilke and husband John, Crandall Schlueter and wife Christina, and Chandler Schlueter; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Trost, Monty Trost, Everett Trost, Will Norris, Paul Norris, Vernon Effenberger, Brady Hoermann and Wes Hoermann. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Baenziger, David Baenziger, Dennis Trost, Tom Trost, Crandall Schlueter, Chandler Schlueter, David Kiel and Dr. Jack Myers.
