Aubrey "Sonny" Chapman, age 78 of Seguin, formerly of Premont, passed away on March 17, 2019. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Premont Burial Park in Premont, Texas. Sonny was born on January 1, 1941 in Falfurrias, Texas to Fletcher and Gladys Jewel (Murdoch) Chapman. He was a longtime employee of Texaco Co. retiring after 34 years of faithful service. Sonny was proud to be a member of the Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts Organization where he served as a leader. He also served as President of the Little League Association in Premont. In 2001 Sonny and Millie moved to Seguin. They became active members of the Country Church in Marion. They also enjoyed their membership in the New Braunfels Area Car Club. He and Millie loved to waltz! He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny Vernon Chapman, his parents, his brother, Robert Chapman and wife Mary Jane, his sister, Shirley Stansbery and nephew Mitch Stansbery. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Millie Stech Chapman; daughter, Virginia Chapman and partner Mike Herrera; grandchildren, Darian Bugai and fiancee Katie Buerger and Heston Bugai; brother-in-law, Pete Stansbery; niece, Jill Olivera and husband Santi; nephews, Doug Chapman and wife Renee, and Mike Chapman and wife, Leslee; other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Heston Bugai, Mike Herrera, Skipper Winborn, Skeeter Schneider, John Schneider and Dwayne Sliva. Sonny will be missed by his family and friends but they are comforted knowing he is now reunited with his son Johnny and all his family whom have gone before him.
