Barbara Jean (Blay) Tschoepe passed away Sunday, June 20, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 17, 1938 here in Seguin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved life and to her, "life" was her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making hundreds of crafts for her family. Every holiday or event meant a new creation. She was a 1956 graduate of Seguin High School. After raising her children, she enjoyed working part-time for many years at Seguin Bridal and Formal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Tschoepe; father, Vernon Blay Sr.; and sister, Mary Ellen Blay. Survivors include her sons, Steve Tschoepe of Seguin and Doug Tschoepe of New Braunfels; daughter, Tina Van Booven and husband, Steve; mother, Mildred Blay; grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler and Logan Van Booven; sister, Betty Spell; brothers Vernon Blay Jr. and Roger Blay and sister-in-law, Janet England, all of Seguin. Pallbearers will be Donnie Barnett, Derek Barnett, Danny Spell, Richard England, Weyland Schaefer and Corey Blay.
