Barbara Bargfrede Lampmann, age 87 of Seguin, passed away on November 8, 2024. Barbara was born in Seguin, Texas on February 10, 1937 to Walter and Leona (Woelke) Bargfrede.

Barbara was raised on her family farm tending to crops and livestock.  She once exhibited the Guadalupe County Grand Champion steer. She attended both Neumann and Elm Creek schools. She was on the volleyball team and active in 4-H. Upon her graduation from Elm Creek School she began her 40-year long career for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, USDA. She served by assisting farmers and ranchers in Guadalupe County until she retired in 1995. Following her retirement, she worked part-time for the Guadalupe County Appraisal District for 2 years.

Barbara married Walter F. Lampmann on July 15, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church at Elm Creek. They lived in Seguin throughout their 56-year marriage. Barbara was an active member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church and a founding member of the Zonta Club of Seguin, where she was named 2006 Woman of Achievement. She remained active in the club until she could no longer drive.  She and Walter loved to travel and host parties for their friends and family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter F. Lampmann, her parents, in-laws Walter A. and Edna Lampmann, brothers, Walter Bargfrede, Jr and Edward Bargfrede, and sister-in-law, Lillian Bargfrede.

Survivors include her nephew, Rodney Bargfrede and wife Tammy; nieces, Carol Ronshausen and husband Gary, and Brenda Franklin and husband Kelly; sister-in-law, Betty Bargfrede; great-nephews Caleb Bargfrede and wife Cady, Cameron Bargfrede and girlfriend Brittany Largent, Gary Wayne Ronshausen and wife Ashley, Shawn Ronshausen and wife Erin, and Graham and Garrett Franklin; the staff of Willowbrook Personal Care Home; as well as other loving family members and a host of special friends.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Marcus Bigott officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Bargfrede, Caleb Bargfrede, Cameron Bargfrede, Gary Ronshausen, Shawn Ronshausen, Gary Wayne Ronshausen, Kelly Franklin, Graham Franklin, and Garrett Franklin.  Past and present Zonta Club Members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
