Barbara Jo Rhodes, age 83 of Seguin, was called home on March 16, 2014. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Walnut Street Church of Christ with Mr. Ken Walters and Mr. Alan Tullis officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Barbara was born on October 19, 1930 in Quitaquay, Texas to Joe Gus Smith and Lena Faye Stephens Smith. Barbara was retired from Safeway Stores in Farmington, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Rhodes, two sons, Jimmie and Bobby Dressler and sisters, Marie Hicks and Gloria Duge and Cathy Case. She is survived by four step-daughters, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her greatly. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hirsch, John Case, Johnny Case, Jeric Netz, Larry Case and Larry Cook. Honorary pallbearer will be C. J. Fare. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Street Church of Christ for benevolent causes, which were all very important to Barbara, 1351 E. Walnut St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
