Barbara Jenene Timmermann, age 66, was born on September 1, 1944 in Freer, TX, and passed away at her home on July 16, 2011, after a 14 year battle with cancer. Her strength and grace have been a testimony for all who know and love her. She was preceded in death by her father Troy Swanson and grandson Mark Allen Zurovec. She is survived by her loving husband Jon Timmermann, two children, Angie Zurovec and husband Joe of Seguin, and Kevin Raymond and wife Becky of Anna, three stepchildren, Dana Polk and husband Gary of La Vernia, John Timmermann, and Randy Sutton, mother Leona Swanson, and brothers Grover Lee and T.J. Swanson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Of all of her loves in life, she especially cherished her role as "Nana". She will be dearly missed by her twelve grandchildren, Maryanna, Madison, Macy, and Maegan Zurovec, Lauren and Scott Raymond, Jenny and Kathy Timmermann, Travis and Brett Polk, and RayAnn and Heather Sutton, as well as her one great-grandchild, Caden Timmermann. Barbara graduated from Alice High School in 1962, and shortly thereafter married Cecil Raymond, to whom she was married for 27 years. A few years later, they settled in Seguin, where she has lived ever since. Over the years, she served as an executive secretary and bookkeeper for various companies, and was at the same time a full-time mother, actively involved in her children's extracurricular activities and hobbies. In 1991, Barbara met Jon Timmermann. Introduced by a mutual friend, they dated and fell in love. In October of 1992 they married and have spent the last 18+ years travelling the United States, camping with friends, and spending time with their grandchildren. Barbara also enjoyed gardening, was a voracious reader, and an avid quilter, enjoying the priceless friendships she made over 38 years as a part of the Town & Country Quilt Club. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 19, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Tres Hewell Mortuary. A memorial service for friends and family will be held Wednesday morning, July 20, at 10:30 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. James C. Muse officiating, with a reception to follow at the home of T.J. Swanson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Town & Country Quilt Club: Melina Schubert, Cora Holohan, Esther Schmidt, June Herzog, June Heideke, Betty Benton, Gerry Kirkland, Diane Schubert, Marsha Harrison and Beth Jahns.
