Benjamin (Ben) Luna Daniel devoted husband, family patriarch, World War II veteran, son of the Great Depression, faithful Catholic, fisherman, lover of music and dancing, and avid gardener, passed away on Sunday, November 2 in his home in Seguin, Texas, surrounded by family, at the age of 91. Ben was born in Belton, Texas and spent most of his adult life in Galveston and Houston. He married Trinidad Ramirez on June 24, 1943. They were married 71 years. Ben is survived by his wife Trine and their six daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews all whom he loved dearly. His daughters are Gloria, husband Jose Saenz and their children, Michael and Joe Daniel; Margaret Luna and her children, Danielle and Gabriela Bardgette; Katherine, her husband, Ali Tizravesh, and their children, Rex and Roxanne; Yolanda, husband Albert Coroy and their daughter, Lauren and her husband, Francisco Robert; Patricia, husband Ronald Williams and their children, Sean and Mark; Carmen, husband Stephen Hendrickson and their daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Thomas Herpin. His great-grandchildren are Ethan Tizravesh, Daphne Herpin, Sebastian Robert, Calvin Herpin, and Penelope Robert; half-sister, Berta Daniel; former son-in-law, John Bardgette; some nieces and nephews. Mr. Daniel was the son of the late Vicente Daniel and the late Matiana nee Luna. Ben is also preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Gomez and brother, Anastacio Daniel. Corporal Benjamin served in the U.S. Army from January 1943 to April 1946 in Guam in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 5 p.m. followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
