Benny Joe Jahns, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on November 28, 2018. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will be held at San Geronimo Cemetery on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service celebrating Benny's life at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathe Evins and Rev. Ron Welborn officiating. A reception will follow in Hierholzer Hall. Benny was born on September 13, 1935 in Guadalupe County Texas to Oscar Harry and Lonie (Mayer) Jahns. Benny was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church where he proudly served as head usher for most of his life. He will be remembered as a mill worker for the Producers Coop for 50 years and a lifelong farmer and rancher. Benny loved ranching, gardening and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Ray Jahns. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Jahns; sister-in-law, Catherine Guidry; brother-in-law, Jack Mayer and wife Jean; beloved niece, Deborah Guidry; beloved dog, Sam; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.
