Bernice Allene Christiansen Boutwell, age 88 of Seguin, passed away on February 1, 2019. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Bernice was born on August 8, 1930 in Columbus, Kansas to Ernest Marcus and Christina Caroline Louise (Noel) Christiansen. Bernice married the love of her life, SMsgt Ellic Earl Boutwell, USAF (Ret.), on June 12, 1953. Bernice loved her family and country as she stood beside her husband as he proudly served in the United States Air Force. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, SMsgt Ellic Earl Boutwell, USAF (Ret.), her son, David Boutwell, her grandson, Paul Boutwell, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her sons, Gregory Boutwell, Jeffrey Boutwell and wife Wendy, Roger Boutwell and wife Diane, and Brian Boutwell; 14 grandchildren who knew and loved her as "Grandma"; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beth Christiansen; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.
