Bernice Vivroux Traeger, age 86 of Seguin, passed away on February 4, 2010. Visitation will begin on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Welborn officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Bernice was born on March 25, 1923 in Seguin, Texas to John and Mabel Braden Vivroux. She attended both Texas Lutheran University and the University of Texas at Austin. She was married to the late Senator John A. Traeger for 51 years. She was always at his side and will be there after death as well. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her son, James Edward (Jet) Traeger and her sister, Marie Vivroux Heil. Survivors include her children, Camille Schwab and husband Larry, Jeanne Schnuriger and husband Bobby and John A. (Drew) Traeger, Jr. and wife Margie Kolb Traeger; grandchildren, Brian Hooser and wife Bridget, Carl Schwab, Andrew Schwab and wife Denae, Andrea Hazlett, Marly Schnuriger, John Andrew Traeger, III, and Steven Traeger; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Hooser, Zachary Hooser and Holden True Hoffman; numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Traeger, Andrew Schwab, Carl Schwab, Steven Traeger, Jack Walker and Brian Hooser.
