Betty Joyce McLaughlin Maurer, 86, of Seguin, Texas, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 7, 2015. Betty was born on September 13, 1928 in Taylor, Texas to Thomas and Mary "Mamie" McLaughlin. She married Arthur M. Maurer, Jr. on October 13, 1956 in Hearne, Texas and raised three children. She was preceded in death by husband Arthur M. Maurer Jr.; brothers, Bryan and Eugene McLaughlin; sisters, Frances McLaughlin, Joan Lane, and her beloved twin, Beverly Boedeker. She is survived her children Anne Wolfe, and husband Antone, Jan Knox, and husband Tommy, Max Maurer, and wife Jennifer, all of Seguin, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Knox, Samuel Wolfe, Kevin Knox, Michael Maldonado, and Cordero Maldonado; and great-grandson Justin Knox; brother Donald McLaughlin of Uvalde, Texas, as well as many much loved nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday June 10, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ken Dakin officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Floral Cemetery in Leakey, TX with Deacon Rubin Navarro officiating. Honorary Pall Bearers will be grandsons Christopher Knox, Samuel Wolfe, Kevin Knox, Michael Maldonado, and Cordero Maldonado; great grandson Justin Knox.
