Betty Jean Pearmon (Sommer), age 74, of Kingsbury, Texas, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026. Betty was born on October 14, 1951, in Seguin, Texas, to Eleanor Sommer (Vorphal) and Leroy Walter Sommer.

Betty was a 1970 graduate of Seguin High School. She married her husband, Paul Pearmon, of 50 years, on July 8, 1974. She was a longtime production assemblist at Motorola before retiring to care for her parents, brother, and husband.

Betty was an avid cook, baker, and gardener. She was known for the creative cakes she’d bake for family birthdays. She enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens. She stressed the importance of family and family traditions. Her entire family would fill the house for various holidays and celebrate together. Traditions like Thanksgiving stuffing mixed by the grandkids, a Halloween hay ride, or singing Christmas songs by candlelight were staples every year. All who came to those holiday gatherings were made to feel special for being welcomed into that family circle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pearmon, her parents, and sibling Leroy “Sonny” Sommer, Jr..

Survivors include her daughters, Chanda Pearmon and Stacy Darnell; Grandchildren Aden Pearmon, Elliott Pearmon, Riley Pearmon, Kaitlyn Bellomy, Carley Darnell Tondre, Kyndall Darnell, Colten Darnell, Kami Lee, and Castin Lee; and great-grandchildren Hadley, Payton, Reagan, Claire, and Luna; and sisters Shirley Palmour and Dorothy Goodman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) or the charity of one’s choice.
