Beverly Ahr Scheel, age 77 of Seguin, went home to be with Jesus on June 23, 2014. Beverly was born on June 13, 1937 in New Braunfels, Texas to Richard and Lorine (Burell) Ahr. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and graduated from New Braunfels High School. In 1957, she married her sweetheart, Roger Scheel. She grew up working in her parent's restaurant on River Road and later worked for Dr. Stanley Woodward. Along with her husband Roger, Beverly owned and operated Rogers Drive Inn in Zippville. Her loving husband of 52 years, Roger Scheel, her parents and her brother, Darwin Ahr preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Terry Scheel and wife Cindy and Brian Scheel and wife Linae; daughter, Donna Patrick and husband Rex; grandchildren, Kyle Scheel, Reagan Scheel, Tabitha Patrick Cruz and husband Daniel, Kara Scheel, Kendall Scheel, Karlee Scheel and Skylar Patrick; great-grandson, Karson Cruz; sister, Vivian Scott; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Reiley Pfullmann and husband James, and Gayle Scheel; her loving caregiver, Jodie Biederman; and her beloved yorkie, Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary officiated by the Catholic Daughters of America will begin on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Nevlud officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Scheel, Reagan Scheel, Kendall Scheel and Skylar Patrick.
