Obituary

Bobby Don "Bob" Linder, age 80 of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on February 7, 2022. Bobby was born on June, 17, 1941 in Kenedy, Texas to Maxine Katherine (Yeater) and Royce Holden Linder.

Bob grew up in Kenedy, Texas and graduated from Kenedy High School in 1959 where he played on the football team and was named as class favorite his senior year. He went to college at The University of Texas and BYU, then at Texas Lutheran College, where he played defensive back. He married his childhood sweetheart Diane Ripps in 1963 and they had two daughters - Donna and Lee Ann. After graduating with an accounting degree from TLC, he and Diane started an accounting practice in Seguin. He was involved in the Seguin community and served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. He loved playing golf with his buddies at Starcke Park, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. When he lost Diane to cancer in 1986, he carried on raising his daughters with unconditional love and support in all of their endeavors. He became a grandpa in 1990, and welcomed six grandchildren over the course of the next 12 years. During this time, Bob found love again and married Melanie Stein in 1997. He sold his business and took a new career direction with World Financial Group in Atlanta, GA, where he was the Director of Mortgage Services.  He and Melanie moved to Atlanta and after spending 12 years there, he retired and they moved back to Texas and settled in New Braunfels. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting with all of his Texas family and friends, going on the annual Linder hunting trip with his brothers and nephews, making new friends and neighbors, and becoming a proud great grandfather. To many outside his family, Bob was known as "Uncle Bob" and he had countless "nieces and nephews" who adored his fun and loving spirit.

Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Linder, his parents, his brother, Bill R. Linder and his nephew, Chad Berg.

Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Melanie Linder; daughters, Donna Linder and wife Sue Thomas, and Lee Ann Linder and husband Jed Thornock; grandchildren, Rachel Sill, Andi Sill, Katy Plymire and husband Bret, Bobby Sill, Jonny Thornock and Lily Thornock; great-grandson, Trip Plymire; brothers, Jack Linder and wife Linda, and James Linder; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and Pete Stein; brother-in-law, Pete Stein, Jr. and wife Delia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.
