Bobby Gene Nunn, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on January 17, 2022. Bobby was born on January 13, 1941 in Liberty Hill, Texas to Opal (Williams) and Paul Eugene Nunn.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and J. P. Cornelius, and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Lloyd and Wayne Hooper.
Beginning at a young age, Bobby discovered a love and passion for the outdoors. Whether it be hunting or fishing, he was always outside enjoying wildlife. However, it wasn't until he was 19 years old when he found his one true love, Doris. Together, they led a life full of love. Bobby worked for Occidental Chemical in Deer Park, TX for over 38 years, before retiring to Seguin, TX. After retirement, Bobby dedicated himself to be the family cook. He would often be found creating new recipes, mostly ones that included bacon and onions. Bobby and Doris spent many days with their grandchildren. He specifically loved his time with his great-grandchild, Waylon. His eyes would always light up when talking about his special memories with Waylon. Of his many hobbies, making new friends and socializing was his favorite. Bobby never met a stranger, and seized every opportunity to make all feel welcomed and included. He always sought out the positives in all situations, no matter the circumstance. It is without a doubt, Bobby was welcomed into Heaven by so many friends and family. He impacted so many lives with his love and kindness. He will truly be missed, and will be alive in our hearts forever.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Doris Nunn; children, Greg Nunn and Dena Flanagan (Gary Kubenka); granddaughters, Britni Mueck (Miles), and Brooke Flanagan (Andrew Stanton, fiancé); great-grandson, Waylon Mueck; sister, Brenda Hooper; sisters-in-law, Barbara Palmer (Bill), and Alice Lloyd; several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Bill Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Batot, Andrew Stanton, Brent Lloyd, Gary Kubenka, Miles Mueck and Wiley Carter. A reception will follow at the Silver Center, 510 E. Court Street, Seguin, Texas, 78155. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Church, 2154 Loop 337, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130.
