Bruce Harold Ball, age 77 of Kingsbury, passed away on October 19, 2011. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Patricia Riggins officiating. Bruce was born on February 3, 1934 in Dodge City, Kansas to Harold Ball and Mildred Kimes Ball McLendon. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas in 1952 where he lettered in football and track, holding a relay record until a few years ago. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as an air traffic controller for four years. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a sales manager in the Oil and Gas Industry for over thirty-five years where he worked in Dallas, Houston and Corpus. Bruce was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He loved his family, cattle, pets, fishing on the Texas Coast and the Texas Longhorns. He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Elmo McLendon and his nephew Barton Garrick. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Jaquelin (Jackie) Schmidt Ball; sons, Charles "Edy" Haws and wife Jane, Todd Ball and wife Kim; daughter Amy Woodson; step-son Thomas Perryman and wife Melissa; step-daughter, Shirley Nolen and husband Ladd; grandchildren, Michael Haws, Sarah Haws, Ashley Ball, Paul Jeffrey, and Henry Clark; sister, Marjorie Garrick; nieces, Vickie Miers and Sharon Nevitt and husband Chuck; many other loving family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
