Calvin ElRoy "Cal" Haugen, age 68 of Seguin, passed away on December 18, 2018.  Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Marcus Bigott officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in Dugger Cemetery.  Cal was born on November 18, 1950 in Minot, North Dakota to Orris Orlando Haugen and Ruth Doris (Forsman) Haugen Hanson.  Cal proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Herb Hanson, brother, Jerry Haugen and nephews, Mike Haugen, Shane Schumaier, and Travis Herbold.  Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra "Sandy" Herbold Haugen; son, Eric Haugen and fiancé Jana Alsobrook and her sons, Alan and David Alsobrook; grandsons, Trace Haugen and Toby Haugen; sisters, Sheila Heer and husband Bob, Shannon Westman and husband Butch, and Sheryl Farley and fiancé Tim Kelley; brother-in-law, Steve Herbold and wife Sharon; sister-in-law, Sharon Haugen; nieces, Tracy (Haugen) Shipman, Jodi (Haugen) Pelster, Leta (Heer) Lewis, Kristen (Heer) Kolczynski, and Kara Heer; nephews, Evan Herbold and Kyle Herbold; numerous great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends.  Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Cunningham, Alan McKinney, Evan Herbold, Kyle Herbold, Donald Carley and Tim Kelley.  While he leaves a great hole in our lives, we rejoice in knowing he is home now with our Lord and having a grand reunion and will be reunited with us on that blessed day to come.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Dugger Cemetery Association, c/o Sharon Herbold, 3106 Elm Creek Road, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the charity closest to your heart.
