Calvin Henry Lange, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on November 5, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 5-7PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:30AM at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Jake Stauffer presiding. Interment will follow at Boecker Cemetery. Calvin was born on December 22, 1934 in Seguin to Melvin and Flora (Howton) Lange. Calvin proudly served in the United States Army as a Communications Specialist, running wire for field radios through heavy brush and climbing trees. A lifelong horseman, (from race horses to show horses), Calvin shared his knowledge with many, especially with his daughter, Cathy. He also made excellent wild grape wine; he shared the old family vines and methods with many others, mostly his grandson Cody. If he wasn't with his horses or out cutting hay, he was deer hunting or getting his rifle cleaned and ready for the season. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gerlean Hellmann; and sister-in-law, Dottie Williams. Calvin is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Edith Goebel Lange; Daughter, Cathy Sasser and husband, Charlie; grandson, Cody Sasser; step-grandaughter, Sabrina Sasser Coy; brother-in-law, Ernest Goebel and wife Sharon , sister-in-law, Patti Henderson and husband, Bill; and brother-in-law, Irvin Hellmann, as well as numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Goebel, Trent Goebel, Cody Sasser, Michael Goble, Ronnie Lange, and Dennis Hellmann. Honorary pallberers will be Teagan Goble, Reno Hellmann, Bill Cox, Irvin Hellmann, and Jeff Kallies.
