Carl D. "Doug" Eckhardt, age 77 of Seguin, formerly of San Antonio, passed away on February 28, 2019. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Craver officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. Doug was born on March 21, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Carl Oswald and Lorraine Alma (Muenchow) Eckhardt. He will be remembered as a long time employee of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. He flew racing homing pigeons all his life and was a member of the San Antonio Limited Club. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Colleen Davis Eckhardt; sons, Carl William Eckhardt and Troy Wayne Eckhardt and wife Sharlene; grandchildren, Ashley Lorraine Parker and husband Nicholas, Shelby, Remington, Lauren and Olivia Eckhardt.
