Carol Sue Crenwelge, age 70 of San Antonio, passed away on May 22, 2018. She was born September 26, 1947 in San Antonio to Hubert Louis and Norma Emma (Kolmeier) Crenwelge. She was baptized in 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church and confirmed in 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church. Carol grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in May of 1965. After High School she attended San Antonio Junior College until she was employed at Main Bank and Trust in 1966 serving as secretary to the Assistant Vice President.
On June 19, 1971 Carol married Clark Roy Wurzbach of Hondo at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Hondo where they had two sons, Jeffrey Alan (1974) and Gregory Clark (1976). She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was employed for 18 years as Administrative Assistant at First United Methodist Church. Carol also served numerous organizations throughout Hondo including the Medina County Food Bank, Texas Women for Agriculture, Medina County A&M Mothers' Club, Boy Scouts of America Troop 370, and Hondo High School Band Boosters. Carol moved back to San Antonio in 1999 where for the next decade she was employed by St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Throughout the years Carol was known for her baking of cakes and cinnamon rolls and her skills as seamstress.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 10226 Ironside Dr, San Antonio, Texas, 78230, with Pastor Sandra Leifeste officiating. Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Louis and Norma Emma (Kolmeier) Crenwelge, and her former husband, Clark Roy Wurzbach. Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Wurzbach and wife Tiffany, and Gregory Wurzbach; grandson, Mason Wurzbach; sister Barbara Ann Eickman; three nieces and one nephew.
