Carol Scott Springs, age 78 of Seguin, passed away to a better life on June 5, 2008. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Springs Family Cemetery, 9700 FM 466, Seguin, Texas. A reception will follow in the family home. Carol was born in Coshocton, Ohio on October 3, 1929 to Herbert A. and Alethe M. Holl Scott. She graduated from Coshocton High School in 1947 and from Texas Lutheran College in 1961. She was a homemaker, wife, artist, a school teacher for 29 years in Seguin ISD, author, newspaper columnist, bible student, doll maker and various things for family and friends including participation in the PTA, AWBA, Miss South Texas Pageant, and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Scott and sister, Pat Dale, two grandsons, Jason Springs and Jacob R. Springs and niece, Anne Heckman. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Riley L. Springs; four sons, Riley S. Springs and wife Paula, Regan D. Springs and wife Carol, R. Shane Springs and wife Patti, Randal L. Springs and wife Rissa; eleven grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Granny", Jodi Pina and husband Andy, Jana Jimenez and husband Eric, Julie Springs, Jenni Ehlers and husband Corey, Travis Springs and wife Lisa, Jared Springs, Tricia Springs, Jon Springs, Jacqueline Springs, Danna Dyess, Denae Buzbee and husband Trey; niece, Paige Stefanchuk and husband John; eleven great-grandchildren. Flowers are nice, but memorials may be made to the Seguin ISD, Ball Elementary Library in Carol Springs' name, 1221 E. Kingsbury Street, Seguin, Texas 78155.
