Carrie Gombert Barry, age 94, passed away on August 20, 2008. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at San Geronimo Cemetery with Chaplain Jeremy Roy officiating. Carrie was born on June 6, 1914 in Guadalupe County to Henry Alexander and Sarah Seay Gombert. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barry, son, Joe Barry, son-in-law, Benjamin Gleaves, her parents, brother, Henry C. Gombert and sisters, Annie Wenzel Richardson, Annette Washbourne, Lillie Maierhofer, Amanda Salter, Corine Hanneman, Allie Mae Slavik, and Grace McKennon. Survivors include her daughter, Bette Gleaves; daughter-in-law, Sharon Barry; grandson, Joe Wayne Barry; numerous nieces and nephews. Carrie enjoyed being part of the "Gombert Girls" and traveling with her family. She was a loving wife and mother. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Wayne Barry, Roy Barry, Jr., Dan Corrigan, Jimmy Daniel, Mike Jackson, and John Q. Barnard IV. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 611 N.
