Carrie Edith Denny Brossman, age 88 of Seguin, passed away on March 2, 2011. Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Nancy M. Wilson officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Carrie was born on August 14, 1922 in Delta, Kentucky to Marshall and Emma Turpin Denny. She graduated from Wayne County High School in 1940. Carrie met her future husband, P. V. "Duke" Brossman, on a blind date she met through Harry Truman's dentist. The rest is history as they were married in Japan and a 59 year love story followed. Through "Duke's" military career in the United States Air Force, they embarked on a story book journey that led them all over the world. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, R. L. Denny, Carmel Denny, Virgil Denny, Bee Denny and Luther Denny and her sisters, Ann Minor and Roxie Jose. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Col. P. V. "Duke" Brossman, USAF (Ret.); sons, Denny V. Brossman and wife Diana and Pherl E. Brossman and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Ivi Shea Villanueva and husband Patrick, Breanna Michelle Brossman, Pherl Lawford Brossman, Mary Tympranz Brossman, Gregory N. Fodell, Jr., and Alissa Fodell; great-grandchildren, Madison Kinsey Villanueva; special nieces, Joyce Orpin, Carol Kimmit, Ruth Taylor and Bridget Drum and husband Alan; sister-in-law, Cathryn Brossman Kutz and husband Frank; numerous other nieces, nephews and other loving family members; The family would like to thank Yolanda Bueno, Dawn Perez, Ada Lerma and Susie Lerma for their loving care and compassion to Carrie and "Duke". Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Pherl Lawford Brossman, W. James Cotterell, IV, Jamie Ehrman, Willie Krahn, Don Leonard, Bart Sutton and Fred Wadleigh.
