Carroll "Butch" Dee Fries, 73 of McQueeney, Texas passed away peacefully on March 31, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will begin on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church, Seguin Texas, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Marcus Bigott officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Carroll was born on April 24, 1944 in Blanco, Texas to Vernon and Toska (Erben) Fries. He married his loving wife, Janet on December, 9, 1967 and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. He had a passion for old vehicles and loved to travel, bowl, wood work and fix just about anything he could get his hands on. He was always there to help with his community, church, family and friends. He loved to waltz with his wife and taught his daughters and granddaughters how to dance. He was a strong family man who adored and spoiled his grandchildren. Butch didn't know a stranger and made people smile and laugh everywhere he went.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Gloria Eickenroht Reinhard, and his sister-in-law, Kathleen "Kathy" Anne Reinhard Bouler. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Janet Elaine Reinhard Fries; daughters, Dana Fries-Mitchell and wife Tammy, Shelly Fries Petruska and husband David; granddaughters, Courtney Barrier-Knutzen and wife Brandi, Braylie Barrier, and Kaylie Petruska; brother, Danny Fries and fiancé Debra Calderon; father-in-law, Alfred Reinhard, Jr.; brother-in-law, Rodney Reinhard and wife Ellen; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other loving family members and close "framily" friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jason Reinhard, Justin Reinhard, Jeremy Reinhard, Cody Bouler, Tyson Bouler, Matthew Muenchow, Claude Mayer, Allen "Fuzzy" Wiederstein, Jerry Rankin, and McAllan "Mc" West.
