Catherine Tsardoulias Moore passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024.

Catherine was born during the Great Depression in Greenville, Ohio on October 29, 1933.  Her parents Nick and Panagiota Tsardoulias immigrated at different times from Samos, Greece in the 1900s.

She then moved to Warren, Ohio, with her parents and older sister Kallie, and next they settled in San Antonio, Texas during World War II and stayed there until Catherine went to college.

Catherine attended the University of Texas and studied anthropology. At The University, she met the love of her life, Fred Jones Moore, who was going to law school.

Fred joined the JAG Corps in the Army and they traveled to various bases in the United States and Panama for 20 years. They had three sons who were all born during this time.

After decades as an Army wife, she and Fred and her three sons moved to Seguin, Texas in 1974 where she lived until 2024.

Catherine loved her family, cooking, and playing games. She loved watching movies, Westerns, and game shows. She especially loved traveling with Fred after retiring, often to Santa Fe and Native American areas in Wyoming and Montana.

Catherine had a lifelong interest in Native Americans and became an expert on the Battle of the Little Big Horn and persons such as George Custer and Sitting Bull.

She devoured countless books about that era as well as many other historical topics. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles, which she continued to do until her late 80's.

She is preceded in death by her older sister, Kallie, her beloved husband, Fred, and her daughter-in-law Eleanor. She is survived by her sons, Chris, Jason, and Mark, Chris' wife Donna, and Mark's wife Kelly, as well as five grandchildren, Charles, Emily, Daniella, Nick, and Alex.

She is missed.
