Obituary

Charles Pricie Bragg, Jr. 74, went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 22, 2024.

Charlie was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 27, 1950, to Charles Pricie Bragg, Sr. and Margaret Earle Stoker Bragg. After moving and living in Shreveport, Louisiana, for 15 years, his family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, where he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1968. He spent many years in Louisiana but truly believed God blessed Texas, and he moved to Canyon Lake in 2000. With his daughters soon following, he would spend the rest of his life in the Lone Star State.

After his family, music was his life, and his love for it started at an early age. He began playing the trombone at 12 and found a passion for the bass guitar at 14. He could play several other instruments and sing, belting out classic country, classic rock, and blues songs.Throughout his life, he played in numerous bands, including River Road, C.O.D, CountyLine Band, and the Wyatt and Charlie Show. He played with Johnny Lee, Hunter Hayes, and other musicians throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing with the Bluegrass band at his church, McQueeney Baptist.

Along with his music career, Charlie thrived in oil field sales for over 40 years. He was also a successful realtor and made $1 million worth of sales in his first year.

Additionally, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, originally initiated into the M.E. Girard Lodge Lafayette 450 in 1981. He remained a member there until joining the Grand Lodge of Texas Guadalupe 109 after moving to Seguin.

Charlie was a man of many talents and excelled in music and everything he did. He had a green thumb and loved gardening. From flowers to vegetables, he could grow it all. While living in Jarrell, Texas, he had a garden about half the size of his yard. He enjoyed history and trivia and would stump his daughters and wife with random questions to which only he would know the answers. He would have been a great Jeopardy contestant. Harboring a tremendous vocabulary, you could always catch him using big words, too. He also loved wearing the old Western style. Cowboy shirts, hats, and boots became his signature look.

Making his family and friends laugh with his jokes, stories, and funny faces, Charlie was the life of the party. He was a big kid at heart, always making those around him smile. He had a heart of gold and was there for anyone and everyone who needed him. He was one of a kind and truly the most amazing brother, husband, friend, and best of all, Daddy and Pappaw.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Earle Stoker Bragg; his father, Charles Pricie Bragg, Sr.; his uncle, John Cersovsky; his brother-in-law, Frank Blakeslee; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Bragg; the mother of his two daughters, Sharon Bragg; his sister, Karen Blakeslee; his aunt, Mary Sue Cersovsky; two daughters, Shannon Price and husband Frank and Natalie Guilbeaux and husband Shane; his five grandchildren, Megan and Madison Price, Jasper and Miranda Guilbeaux, and Gabriel Guilbeaux and wife Gabrielle; one great-grandchild, Maizley Guilbeaux; his step-sons, Keith and Josh Bostic; and his four step-grandchildren, Brett, Blake, Leah, and Saoirse Bostic.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11 AM at McQueeney Baptist Church with the Reverend Dale Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the McQueeney Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Sc humann RD, McQueeney, TX 78123.
