Charles Daniel "Dan" Stewart, age 73 of Seguin, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on April 24, 2023. Dan was born on October 21, 1949 in Murray, Kentucky to Martha Jane Blalock and Col. RC Stewart, USAF (Ret.)

Dan retired from Motorola/Continental after 36 years of dedicated service where he was a senior buyer. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing and playing his guitar and dancing. His most treasured times were spent barbecuing with family and friends, especially loving on and playing with his grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rebecca "Becky" Stewart.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Janie C. Stewart; daughters that knew him as "Daddy Dan", Rebecca Stewart, and Monica Gonzales and husband Carlos, Jr.; God daughter, Mariah Hernandez and partner Bryan Gonzalez; God son, Michael Hernandez, Jr.; grandchildren who knew him as Pop-Pop, Brielle, Riynne, Madelyn, Cyanna, Naviya and Naia; brother, Scott Stewart and partner LeAnn; best friends, Ronald Schrank and wife Cindy, and Marvin Berry and wife Joyce; other loving family members and friends; beloved fur babies, Marshall, Winston, Enzo and Bob.

Visitation will begin on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 12 noon at Tres Hewell Mortuary followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Emanuel Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Carlos Gonzales, Jr., Michael Hernandez, Jr., Bryan Gonzalez, Michael Hernandez, Sr., James Salazar, and Jesse Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be Raul Chavez, Jr., Ronald Schrank and Marvin Berry.

Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran organization of choice, any cancer organization of choice or any animal care organization of choice.
