Charlotte Elizabeth Ahrens Dowdle passed away April 1, 2015 at the age of 98 in Seguin, TX. She was born December 22, 1916 to Martha Geils Ahrens & Theodore Ahrens. She attended Glenbard Township High School in Wheaton, IL. Charlotte was baptized and confirmed at St John's Lutheran Church in Lombard IL.

She married Clifford Dowdle on November 10, 1945. They moved to Seguin and opened White Auto Store. Clifford passed away April 21, 1986. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Janet Grimm, Sisters Opal Wilde and Helen Walters and brother Arthur Ahrens and nephew Ron Wilde. She is survived by three grandsons, James (Rocky) Bywater, Greg (Hooks) Grimm, and Todd (Bushman) Grimm, wife Priscilla, and great grandchildren Priscilla, Charlotte, Isabelle, Dawn, Matt and two great great grandchildren, Scarlet, and Teagan Rose, niece Charlene Booster & family, niece in law Nancy Wilde and many more nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Seguin, Texas where she was involved in the Ladies Aid and many other activities. Charlotte also enjoyed playing sports; ice skating, softball and bowling and tennis (State Champion) in her younger years. She participated in Relay for Life every year until she turned 95. She helped the Chamber of Commerce and was involved in many other volunteer activities.

Memorial Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 am. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, 935 E. Mountain St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.

Final interment will be at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Addison, IL.
